What this site does

We Love Noah is a personal website for sharing updates with family and friends. This policy explains what information the site processes and why.

Information we collect

  • Account and login information. When you request a login link, we process your email address and create a temporary authentication token. When you complete your profile, we may store the name you provide.
  • Comments and reactions. If you sign in and participate, we store the comments and reactions you submit and the profile information displayed with them.
  • Email subscriptions. If you subscribe, we store your subscription preference and use your email address to send site updates. Every update email includes an unsubscribe option.
  • Security and abuse-prevention data. We store the IP address associated with login-link requests and use it to limit automated or abusive requests.
  • Cookies and similar data. The site uses cookies for login sessions and anonymous page-view measurement. These cookies help the site function and do not contain your password.

How we use information

We use this information to authenticate users, operate the site, display comments and reactions, send requested updates, provide requested features, measure page views, prevent abuse, and maintain site security.

Service providers

The site relies on service providers to operate:

  • DigitalOcean hosts the application.
  • PlanetScale hosts the PostgreSQL database.
  • Mailgun delivers login links and site-update emails.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile helps detect automated abuse on login forms. Turnstile processes information about your interaction with the site under Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
  • Authorized site administrators may upload images for publication with posts. DigitalOcean Spaces stores those images.

Data retention

Expired or consumed login links are no longer valid, but their database records may remain as part of authentication and abuse-prevention records. We retain information for as long as needed to operate the site, prevent abuse, resolve disputes, and meet applicable obligations.

Your choices

You may unsubscribe from site-update emails using the link in any update email. You may also request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account by contacting [email protected].

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the site or its data practices change. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
